After graduation from Mankato State University in 1972, I went for Peace Corp training in Costa Rica for three months. Then, on to the Dominican Republic.
After which, I returned to Minnesota and worked in Fridley and Mankato.
But in 1977, I left the US again, this time for Baja Verapaz, Guatemala. The plans for Guatamala didn't work out. So, left with the choice of returning to Minnesota or trying my luck in Costa Rica, I went south.
Thirteen years later, I returned to Minnesota with a wife and two daughters. During those 13 years, I also traveled for work to El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Ecuador and Peru.
I plan on retiring next year and spending winters in the tropics.
