-Fellow Classmates….As the year comes to an end it is due time for the BOD to summarize what has happened this year, even though most of this information is already on the website in other tabs.

-55th Class Reunion:  We had a good turnout of 80 classmates and spouses show up for our 55th Class Reunion in September.  We had our meet and greet at Hart Ranch Golf Club House and our banquet at the Alex Johnson Hotel ballroom.  We also had a walk and talk with about 20 of us that hiked around Canyon Lake Park and up the bike path toward Cleghorn Springs and came back to the park shelter to have donuts and coffee.
-Our Cobblers Helping Cobblers (CHC) committee has been working closely with the Rapid City Central High School Activities Office to find Cobblers in Need and provide financial support to them to be able to participate in extracurricular activities. This last year we purchased football spikes for 2 students, provided registration fees for 10 of the 15 students that qualified for South Dakota Junior Honors Choir and the Midwestern ACDA Regional Honor Choir.  We added donations of $2000 from our 55th Reunion 50/50 raffle to our Custodial Account maintained at the Rapid City Area School
-We still hold our monthly Class Coffee on the 1st Wednesday of each month and would love to have any locals or visitors from out of state that happen to be around when we meet just drop in and join us.  No RSVP required!!  Mostly we sit around and reminisce about the “good old days”  but we do use it for planning reunions, discussing CHC activities, hearing about everyone’s travel plans, and like most old people talk about our latest pain or ailment.

-We still have some funds left over for the start of planning for a 60th Class Reunion so we will keep you posted, look for your input and ideas on what you would like to do, and encourage your participation in planning once we get closer to 1927. Thanks….  Jim Q

“It can’t be 55 years!”  Some people look the same and some I would never recognize!  Everyone of us has a long list of adventures and life events behind us!  It was fun to see old friends and make some new acquaintances!  How could you possibly ‘know’ 750 people in highschool??  Bringing people together is what reunions are all about. And everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!

We had 57 classmates and 23 spouses gathered.  30 of us were from Rapid City and 9 were from other parts of the state.  There were 18 from out of state - IL, NE, WA, CO, AZ, MI, ND, TN, 2 UT, 2 OH, 2 CA, 2 OR, 2 TX, and England! What a bunch of nice people that we went to school with!   

The Friday evening weather was perfect for our indoor/outdoor gathering at Hart Ranch Golf Club House. The conversations flowed easily.  It was a treat to showcase Lintz Brother’s Pizza and Armadillo’s Ice Cream.  Thank you Jim Lintz and sons and Mike Brummer and son!  Nice job!!!  Randy Kanago ordered more perfect weather and donuts for our Saturday walk around Canyon Lake Park. Thanks for the beautiful morning, exercise and more conversation.  Saturday evening at the historic Alex Johnson was a walk in the past right downtown Rapid City.  We celebrated being together after 55 years and enjoyed dinner and drinks.  We were treated to Rocky Mountain Chocolates for dessert thanks to Gary and Kendra Larson the owners!  What a delight!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it a memorable evening!  Let’s do it again sometime!  Have a wonderful Fall!

There has been an activity change...
Only one Saturday daytime activity will be offered...
At our "Cofffee Connection" reunion meeting today, we decided because most classmates interested in a daytime activity, signed up for BOTH "the Walk in Canyon Park" and "The Downtown Art Walk" which are both at 10 am Saturday morning, to just have the one activity "The Walk in Canyon Lake Park".  Bring your our coffee and we will have the donuts. Then you may choose to sit and relax, take a one mile stroll or a two mile walk.  More people! More fun!

Coming Soon!   A party for US- celebrating 55 years and old friendships!  September 8 & 9 are just around the corner and registrations are due by August 1st!  Please join us (and call your friends).  We have decided to invite the Class of ’67 to our Friday gathering too.

Both evenings will begin at 6 PM. Friday at Hart Ranch Golf Club House is pizza, vegies, ice-cream, beer, and wine - outdoors we hope.  Saturday at the Alex Johnson is a buffet  with a beef choice, a chicken choice, and a vegan/ gluten free choice and full bar.  The Class is funding a major portion of the events and all we need now is YOU!  Come for the fun and memories!

Quick note…

Our ability to send a blast email to all is back, YES!  You will also be able to read these messages on our website in the tab”Blast Emails”.  We just want you to know we are ready to have you sign up for our 55th reunion.

For right now the Blast Email Service is not available at this time... ClassQuest hopes they can bring it back. With internet increasing measures to improve security rates, the emails from them were resulting in a high bounce rate, potential for being marked as "spammers" or shutting down blast email down all together.  For me to copy 434 emails and BCC on to my email address locked up my gmail, so my solution for right now was to create a "Email Message Tab" on our website.  ClassQuest does notify you when there is a message, depending on how often depends on what you checked (how often) to recieve a notices from them. If you have any questions or comments for me, use the contact button to reach me or my email link on my profile.
