OBITUARY...
Roslyn Roxie Bangle passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007 at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Jean and Blaine Thompson on July 8, 1950 in Rapid City, S.D. She attended grade school at Caputa, S.D., South Junior High and Rapid City Central High School , graduating in 1968. She graduated from Black Hills State College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education in 1973, and she earned her Masters Degree from the University of South Dakota in 2003.

She taught one year at Shadehill Country School near Lemmon, and 29 years in the Douglas School system. She and husband John were married in 1973. They have two children, Jennifer Bangle and Brant Bangle, both of Box Elder, S.D.

She is survived by her mother Jean (Bahr) Thompson, Rapid City; two children, Jennifer Bangle and Brant Bangle, Box Elder, S.D., three sisters Paula (Bill) Honerkamp, Piedmont, S.D., Donna Thompson, Rapid City, S.D. and LuAnne (Mark) Nisco, Seattle, Wash. Other survivors are sisters-in-law Martha Black, Rapid City and Barbara (Buddy) Spalding, Hot Bottom, Pa., aunts Virginia (Don) Carstensen, Rapid City, Betty (John) Colgan, Emma Bahr, uncle Norman (Peppi) Bahr, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews in western South Dakota, Colo., Wash., Minn., Nebr., Ariz., and Calif.

She was preceded in death by her father Blaine Thompson, mother-in-law Merceedes Bangle, grandparents Hale (Bassett) Bahr, Gairhart Bahr, and Addie and Wendell Thompson.

Roxie always seemed to keep busy, from being in 4-H and playing games as a child, to running her kids as an adult to Boy Scouts, soccer, or band practice. She enjoyed camping, playing cards, riding motorcycles, reading, and finding new, creative things to do on the computer. She will always be known as Mrs. Bangle to hundreds of little Patriots who she taught over the years. Always taking care of everyone until the end, she will be missed beyond measure and loved forever.

Visitation will be 5pm to 7pm on Friday at Kirk Funeral Home, Rapid City, and at the church for one hour before services. Funeral services will be at 10:00am Sat., Nov. 24, 2007 at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Trefz officiating. Interment will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Rapid City.
