Nine months out of high school, enlisted in the Army for three years. Spent fifteen months in Vietnam. Returned home to Duluth, met and married my wife of 39 years, (Judy Eskeli Johnson) from Nashwauk, MN.
We have three boys, six grandchildren, and one great grandson. I worked for and retired in 2006 from the City of Duluth Civil Engineering department.
Also, enlisted in the U.S. Army reserve in 1974 and retired from in 1994. Was activated to "Desert Storm" in 1991.
We spend our time now just enjoying life. The cold winter months we live in a small town in southern Mexico on the Pacific coast. A good share of the summer we stay at our cabin in the northwoods of Minnesota on the Gunflint Trail. We keep very busy now days. I like to build things. We built our own home, our own cabin, garages, kids playhouses, etc. Mostly we love our time with the grandchildren. Best thing about them.you can play them awhile, then give them back.
