After earning my BA at Brown University, I worked in New York briefly before earning my MBA at Harvard Business School. I began my investment banking career in 1976, working for three major firms until 1990 before starting my own boutique investment bank, Bentley Associates (www.bentleylp.com) 28 years ago where I continue to serve as President.

My wife, Sheila, and I got married in 1984, and continue to live in Bronxville, New York. Sheila is a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management where she has a financial planning and money management practice that she has developed over the past 40 years. Our daughter, Ashley (30), also attended Brown, and is currently getting her MBA at UVA/Darden. Our son, Spencer (28), is getting his MBA at Dartmouth/Tuck and MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, after getting his BA from Yale. Both children worked for Boston Consulting Group this past summer and will join this consulting firm after graduation.

Over the years we've done a fair amount of traveling. After college I hitchhiked solo through Europe for almost 4 months, and after business school, I hitchhiked solo through East Africa for three months. Other pre-marriage travels included India/Nepal, 4 West African countries and Ecuador/Galapagos. With our kids, Sheila and I have visited 17 countries before they completed high school, including some non-traditional places such as Turkey, Tanzania/Zanzibar, South Africa, Iceland, Belize and Costa Rica, in addition to Europe.

Although my parents lived in the same Parma house as when I grew up, for the past 30 years it has been much easier for one or both of them to come to our New York home rather than for us to visit Ohio. As a result, I have not been able to maintain many Valley Forge connections, although I have attended every reunion since graduation. I am very much looking forward to the 50th Reunion and certainly appreciate all the work done by the reunion committee this year and for the past reunions.
