How I passed Algebra

I can't tell this story to my 9th grader, but if it weren't for Phyllis Cooper, I would've never been able to graduate. Going into my algebra final, I had a strong "D" :+). SO...I sat at the back of the class in the T Building and slowly handed my test out the window to Phyllis sitting below. We aced it and I never looked back. I majored in art at UNT to avoid more math and am now an accountant. Ha! Nah, a 20+ year graphic designer and loving it.

Five bucks?

I don't know if she'll show up, but I owe Cindy Hoyler 5$ for gas money from a trip to visit Baylor - sorry Cindy, you can charge me interest!  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone.

An Angel named Anne Dorris

This isn't a high school story but it involves someone we went to school with.  Back in 1995 I had my first baby...six weeks later we where at the emergency room with her.  She had a very high temperature and was very weak.  We spent hours waiting in the waiting room and new mom me was beginning to panic watching my little girl suffer.  Soon we got back to triage.  They told me she was very ill and they would have to do a spinal tap to rule out diseases and find out what was wrong with her.  In walked Anne Dorris my red haired childhood friend to do the test.  She assured me she would take care of her, be gentle with her and everything would be "ok".  She and the doctors did take care of my little girl and to this day Anne holds a very special place in my heart.

Do you know Red?

Once upon a time, perhaps a thirty year old time that is, two WHHS teens went to Red Oak in a Red Cadillac with a Redhead, also a WHHS girl. This redhead was looking for cute cowboys, and Holly and I were just going through a phase.... Before the evening was over "Big Red," our affectionate name for the caddy landed in a ditch and the three normally goody two shoes girls were scrambling for ideas to get home without alerting the folks. Can you name the redheaded classmate?
