After RHS I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, graduating with a B.A. in 1971. At Concordia I was a kicking specialist on the varsity football team for four years. I remember playing against former Robins teammates Jim Twardy at North Dakota State, Rich Reinholdz at Gustavus and Bill Laliberte at Saint John's. I had my best year in football as a senior, setting kicking records and being recognized as a Little All-American by one publication. I had a contract offer from the Chicago Bears and participated in their training camp in 1971. "Fortunately" I was cut in time so that I could accept a teaching assistantship and do graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle. Following my M.A. in Seattle, I continued graduate work in Germany, receiving my terminal degree in education in 1975. I have been enjoying a rewarding professional life in higher education, teaching in the field of international management and managing degree programs in international business. My work has allowed me to remain in close touch with the US, taking leaves to teach for a number of years in Seattle and Tacoma, WA, and at universities in Missouri, North Carolina and Tennessee. I retired from full-time teaching in 2015, but I am still teaching on a reduced load. I have three children. They all have dual US-German citizenship. Two of them, Jennifer and Jeff, attended Macalester College. Jeff had a good career in media relations in Minnesota, working at the Governor's Office and at the University of Minnesota for many years before taking a position at Rice University in Texas.

I have very fond memories of my time at RHS and I am considering flying over for the 50th reunion.
