RHS All School Reunion October 18-20 ,2013

Dear Class of 67. Congratulations on your recent 45th reunion. I hope you had as much fun as we did a year ago at our 45th. I am writing to inform you of the great celebration that is going to take place next October 18-20, 2013--the RHS All School Reunion. It will be a 3 day nostalgic ,fun event which will also be historic. For instance, naming the old RHS as an historical landmark and an unveiling of the trophies and memorabilia from RHS  in permanent display at the old RHS. Former teachers, and local public officials and the Robbinsdale City Band performing. Also, a great party at the Medina ballropom with 45 years of music and dancing. Plus much more....Please check out the website http://robins.classquest.com/main/default.aspx  (in its' formative stages ) and save the dates. We will see you then.

Best Regards, Mark Sorenson

While I am addressing this to Karin, I want to thank everyone who worked on making the party happen.  You did a great job!  I know a lot of people were thanking you at the Reunion and marveling at you dedication.  I certainly don't want to belittle what you did.

I organized a 50th Birthday party for the 7-1s and 7-2s from Sandburg 10 years ago.  While it seems like a lot of hours that one has to put in to organize one of these, I know it was something that was fun to do, something that I enjoyed doing and didn't really consider it work.

What made it all worthwhile for me was the people who came and enjoyed my efforts.  And while the decorations were nice and the food and band and room were all great, I also want to thank the people who came!  Because it's all about the people and the reminiscing.

And on that point, I'd like to expand.  I wasn't really a socially interactive person in High School.  It went by fast and while I made a few new friends in HS and at the Reunions since, the people I enjoyed seeing most were the ones with whom I spent my Elementary and Jr High years.

So thank you again to The Committee and all the attendees!  Rock on Robins!

WOW, I haven't had so much fun in years.  Forgot I had a job, arthritis, and a few other things.  My pals Gail Henrickson and Alice Hanson (Cooper 67) and Dean Petersen (Elk Horn, IA, 75) and I were in a state of JOY and TRANSPORT for HOURS.  Best of all was seeing everybody.  Looking forward to keeping in touch,

Rock On

Thanks for organizing a great reunion party. I had the best time talking, playing guitar, and listening to the band. I think we have a special class.

RHS is truly the original School of Rock. Enough said.

Regards, Fred (Gustafson)

Greetings!!

Thanks for making the 40th a absolutely memorable experience. The decor, bands, organization, and coordinated effort is much appreciated.

Gregory & Ginnymarie Leines

I'll be there next time...

Thanks for all the info re the class reunion, I live out of state, missed notice on the first couple, wanted to come to my first one this year, but wasn't sure best old buddies were there, and had other conflicting interests. Turns out the old buddies Bob Burgoyne, Ron Brand and a couple others WERE there, we just didn't get in touch ahead of time to make plans. However I can thank you and your team for at least creating a way for us to find each other and connect, so thanks for that even though I wasn't there. I do plan to come to the next one.

To My Fellow Committee Members:

All of us did a job above and beyond, but there are two little Ladies that did us proud. If it wasn't for them we would not have had a reunion. I will not name names, or point my finger, but Kris and Karin did a better than great job. Thank you girls, you are the BEST. JIMBO.

PS (This from Karin) Thank you, JIMBO (the cheerleader who kept us all enthused in the VERY early stages of planning, and who single handedly made Friday's event happen), but let me add this postscript: Kris and I have nothing but admiration for the jobs that EVERYONE on this committee did--you are ALL experts in the skills and talents you contributed to make this reunion the best so far.

Thanks to Committee Members!

Well.....it's Monday after the reunion and I just have to tell all of you what an amazing group you are! You put on the best reunions ever and David and I enjoyed every minute. You thought of every detail and made the evening another memorable one for all of us.....decorations were outstanding, flashing balls to boot!, the band, the CD, the website, the Friday gathering, the rocks!, the food....all of it was just fantastic.

Thank you all so much for giving your time, your talents and your creativity to make this reunion a "rocking" success!

Thanks again to all of you. I am so proud to be part of this class.....

What a Great Party!

Thank you to everyone involved in making this such a success!  We had a great time and appreciate all the work that went into this event.  The decorations were fabulous, the food yummy and the music was just the best!  (The wedding reception in the next room wasn't anywhere near as exciting as the reunion!) Although we were exhausted from dancing, we watched the DVD when we got home and really enjoyed the memories that brought back--so, thank you for that, too!  If there is a 60th B.D. party, we'll be there!  Thanks again!  Dan and Trudy Thompson    p.s.--Yes, we second the vote for large print name tags!

I don't think you can top this in 2017!

Dear Reunion Committee:  Ron and I want to thank you for two wonderful evenings of fun and networking!  Everything was organized so well, and what we really loved was coming to an event and having no responsibilities---just enjoyment!  (We both spend much of our lives organizing events, so we REALLY enjoyed this!) It was easy to see that it was a labor of love on the part of so many!  We definitely "felt the love"!  As the reunions have evolved over the decades, it is easy to see the maturity and focus evolving. There were so many thoughtful new additions to the event, and attention to detail!  My only suggestion for the next one is to make the name tags and photos 6" by 6" squares and hang them around our necks like the nametags we wore in kindergarten.  That will allow for the ever-changing eyesight of 68 year olds!  Hats off to you!  Ron and Paulette Olsen

Thank You,Thank You, Thank You!

To every single person who worked on making the reunion a resounding success, THANK YOU!  Everything was planned and executed beautifully.  The website was and will continue to be a great source of information for everyone.  You were great about constantly updating everything.  The decorations were beautifully done.  I especially loved the gold Rock-On-Robins letters over the band. The music was super and so much fun to listen  and dance to all night.  The old songs will be forever engrained in our hearts.  The buffet food lines, dessert, etc. were great.  The buffet lines were a great way to mingle, rather than a sit down dinner (where everyone stays in the same place for hours.).  It was great to have so many people come for the evening.  It would be even nicer if we could encourage more old friends to come.  The prizes were especially neat (since I won).  Thank you so much for everything!Peggy Palenik

Thanks, Exhausted Organizers!

Penny and I would like to thank all of you for your countless hours of preparation to make the 40th year reunion a great success. From the rock in front of the school, all the decorations,to the root beer floats, DVD's, prizes, and welcoming classmates, this was wonderful. The live reunion band was great and it was especially cool to rock to "Hey Joe". I guess even tho our bodies are 58 we still are all kids at heart.
Please accept and pass on our sincere thanks to all of the people involved in making both Friday and Saturday great events.

Thanks to everyone on the Reunion Committee!!!

(Page started by Cheryl Franson - a very appreciative NON-committee member)

I am not a member of the wonderful committee that has worked on our 40th Reunion, but have just been helping Karin DeZiel, Phil Johnson & Kris Bergstrom with the website.  There have been messages coming though thanking the committee for all their work, and I thought it would be great to have a place where YOU could post your message for all of them to see.  They have done a fantastic job!!!!  Thank you, Committee!
