Howdy, y’all. Greetings from the great state of Texas! Hoping everyone has a wonderful time at the UD Class of 1969’s 50th reunion. (Wow! Can it really be? Raise your hand if you don’t feel that old!)
A quick recap of my last 50 years:
• Married my high school sweetheart, Rick (UD ’68) in 1972.
• B.A. in Spanish in 1973.
• M.B.A. in 1980.
• Held jobs with several companies handling their exports.
• Became stay-at-home mom with birth of first son, RJ, in 1983. In spite of special needs he has worked at Walmart clearing carts for 17 years, inspiring all who see his cheerfulness and work ethic.
• Stephen born in 1985. Presently Ph.D. candidate in mathematics.
• Christopher born in 1988. Received a B.A. in France and lives there, exploring ideas such as analytics tools for investing.
• Abigail born in 1990. Married, a practicing veterinarian.
• Our family moved to Texas in 2000. Lots of heat, hurricanes, and southern hospitality. Stop in for a visit if you ever come our way.
• Have been teaching 3 and 4-year-olds in Sunday School for many years.
• Taught high school Spanish for 13 years in public and private Christian schools.
• Involved in a mentoring ministry to young couples and/or single moms who need the wisdom and experience of an older generation.
• Helping with an animal-assisted therapy ministry with the cooperation of our dog, Rasco.
• Waiting to see what the future looks like when Rick retires in 2020 after 40 years with his company as a chemical engineer.
All of the above would be empty without a faith foundation built on the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. To Him be the glory!
