I served four years in the Navy out of high school. After attending the University of Maryland, I began my teaching career in Montgomery County, but relocated to Vermont in 1979 to attend graduate school. Retiring after 30 years in the schools, I taught English at the Inner Mongolia Normal University in China for five years and was on the education staff of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. I now teach courses for the Community College of Vermont.
Beyond work, I continue to be active in outdoor sports, woodworking, music, and community theater. Gail (Nash Class of 1971) and I have been married for 48 years. We have two sons and two grandchildren.
