In 1970 I left the Tampa area and returned to my home state of Rhode Island, reacquired my New England accent, and finished college at Roger Williams University. I earned a BA in Biology with a minor in History, but back then the economy in New England was awful and jobs in my field were scarce. I continued in the job that helped put me through school-bartending. That was very interesting work, but the benefits were lousy. In 1974 I started part-time on the local police force, went full time in 1977, and retired as a lieutenant in 2010. I was married in 1978 to my wife Christine and we had our only child, Ryan in 1984. Now we are proud grandparents of Kate who is 2 years old.

When I first attended KHS as a junior in 1966 I was a transfer student from RI. That can be a tough adjustment for a kid, but I will never forget the students I met and the ease with which I adjusted to my new school. The kids at KHS were a “class act” and I will never forget that experience.

I hope to attend the reunion this August. See you there!
