Janet Beal (Sullivan)

Janet L. Sullivan, 58, of Nederland, Texas passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at her home. She was born April 2, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas and moved to Nederland in 2006.  She was a graduate of French High School and Lamar University. She was an art teacher at St. Anne School with 19 years of service. She loved her children, her dogs, and her students.  She was preceded in death by her father, Hebert Beal.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Sullivan; mother; Anita Beal; daughter, Christina Starr Sullivan; son, John Daniel Sullivan; siblings, Grant Beal, Lynn Roby and Ginna Beal; and granddaughter, Katelynn Rollins..



 

Ronny Bean

 Ronald Alan Bean, 65, of Beaumont, Texas, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 23, 1948, in Beaumont, to Laura Harrington Bean and Frank Willis Bean, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Ronald worked many years for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Petkovsek Bean; mother, Laura Bean; son, Chris Bean and Brian Bean; brother, Gary Bean; one grandchild on the way; nephew, Brent Bean; niece, Krystal Bailey; and four great-nieces and nephews.

Mary Bond (Rash)

Mary Carolyn Bond Rash, 66, of Lumberton, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on February 4, 1949, in Beaumont, to Dessie Marie Firmin Bond and Russell Ishler Bond.

Mary will always be remembered as a kind, understanding and patient friend, mother, and wife. Those who knew her well may remember her saying “Stop lollygagging around!” She made an example of this by giving of herself generously to benefit her children. Mary volunteered countless hours at Stephanie’s Dance Studio and at Chad’s little league games as scorekeeper.  She was also a founding member of the Lumberton High School Raiderette Booster Club where she helped raise funds for trips and excursions.  Mary worked at Sam’s Wholesale Club in Beaumont for several years as the Demo Coordinator. She later continued her Sam’s career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Rash of Lumberton; daughter, Stephanie Rawlinson and her husband, Todd, of Fannett; brother, Dale Bond and his wife, Peggy, of Tomball; mother-in-law, Joyce Rash, of Lumberton; and many loving family members.  Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Dessie Bond; father, Russell Bond; and son, Chad Rash.  Most of all, Mary will be remembered for her boisterous laugh and big hugs.

Melanie Brunette

Melanie Ann Brunette, 61, of Bryan, formerly of Beaumont, passed away at her home Saturday afternoon, May 15, 2010.  Interment will be in the New Baden Cemetery in New Baden, Texas. Melanie was born in Bryan, Texas to Philip and Mabel Smith Brunette. She graduated from French High School in Beaumont and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from Lamar University. Melanie dedicated her life to teaching children in Beaumont I.S.D. spending most of her teaching career at Odem Middle School and Central High School. She retired in May of 2007 and moved back to Bryan n June 2009.  She was proud of her Teacher of the Year Award. She specialized her talents working with the Gifted and Talented Students and sponsored the UIL Gifted and Talented Future Problem Solving Team winning the State Championship one year followed by a 1st Runner Up a second year. She was a member of the Golden Triangle Writers Guild and was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Beaumont before joining First Baptist Church in Bryan. Since living in Bryan, Melanie has become a member of the Brazos Valley Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, a Mentor for the Job Force Training for Abused Women, and a member of several Bible Study Groups. She is survived by two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marian and Tim Romere and their daughter Lindsey of Sour Lake, TX and Marsha Brunette Toole and her son David of Beeville, TX; step-mother, Peggy Brunette of Paris, TX; one step-brother, Kelly Broussard; two step-sisters, Karla Broussard and Kriste Broussard; two aunts and numerous cousins.

Darlene Connor

Darlene, D.D. Anne Conner Blakesley, 60, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. She was born July 30, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mary Frances Gulli Conner and William Coda Conner. Darlene grew up in the Beaumont area, moved to Seattle in 1990 where she lived for many years and resided in Lumberton for the last fifteen months. She graduated from French High School Alumni in 1967 and was a retired Human Resource Manager for K-Mart with twenty-seven years of service. Survivors include her husband of nine years, Robert Blakesley; children, Christina Kanakis, Christy Brandelli and her husband Brian, Jessica Blakesley, Bradley Blakesley, and Brandon Blakesley; sister, Cheryl Conner; niece, Kim Conner-Heck; sister, Sharon Conner Langston and her husband Larry; nephew, Cody Seay and his wife Lydia; brother, Billy Conner and his wife Melinda, nephew, Coda Conner; aunt, Elizabeth Coons; and cousin, Richard Coons and his wife Carol. She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
