Glen was born and riased in Bakersfield. He attended McKee Elementary School, General Shafter School and graduated in 1990 from Bakersfield High School. Growing up he was a member of the Kern Delta 4-H Club and his projects included raising sheep, hogs and springer dairy heifers. In the past few years, he has enjoyed being a part of his sons 4-H dairy projects. He enjoyed his family vacations at the Pismo Dunes riding quads, bird hunting with uncles and friends, fishing, flying radio controlled airplanes, and most anything that had an engine. His favorite hangouts were Carlas Café and Harvest Steakhouse.
His father and mother helped and encouraged him to get started in the farming busness and for the past nine years, he and his wife owned and operated GlenJen Farms. They raised alfalfa, oat hay, silage corn, and did custom work for many local farmers. Corn was one of his favorite crops to grow because he could almost see it grow before his eyes. Glen was known for his big blue haystack retriever, which he designed and built with his father-in-law. He delivered hay daily to numerous customers in the area who will miss his service.
Glen was born with his fathers heart and gift of being mechanically inclined. He always had a cute story to tell, loved children, carried a smile on his face and was always there for whoever needed him. He has given us many memories to cherish and will forever be in our hearts.
