Hamburger and Wrestling

I just visited the website the other day and read the sad news about Hamburger.  When I wrestled at HHS in 1980, David was the heavy weight.  I remember him bringing a boom box and playing Black Sabbath on occasion before our weigh-ins.  He always got the crowd going with his emotion and enthusiasm on the mat.  Its been a long time but those memories were good.

From an old newpaper article with HHS against Springstead High

"The biggest attraction occurred in the unlimited classification as a pair of huge grapplers tussled.  David Bradford of Hernando pinned 270-pond Tom Tummey in 2:32.  Bradford tips the scale at 235 pounds."
