Died: April 15, 2015

Rudolph James Lege, Rudy, passed away in the early morning on April 15th, 2015 in Austin, Texas. He was 54 years old.

He was first and foremost a musician and artist. Rudy was born on December 20th, 1960 in Port Arthur, Texas and then moved to Houston at age nine. He was a graduate of The High School for Performing and Visual Arts, class of 1979 where he studied bassoon and performed orchestral music and jazz. His passion for music was broad and expressed in the love of playing, collecting and restoring woodwind instruments. He recently completed a Certificate in Band Instrument Repair Technology at Renton Technical College in Seattle, WA.

Rudy was a loving and generous son, brother, uncle and friend who had a knack for finding just the right gift and was always ready for an impromptu jam session and silliness. Victor was helping someone whose car had stalled on the Southwest Frwy here in Houston one rainy night and he was struck by a car. I believe this was the summer after we graduated, so summer of 1980. I am not 100% certain on the date, but I do know he was killed in an accident as described. His father was Dick Wray, a well known artist (sculptor) in the Houston area.
