Life is fragile

I am so sorry to hear that you had been so ill but glad that you have recovered and continue to do so.

I am so saddened to hear of Nino's death and am reminded of how very fragile life is, at any age but especially as we age. How we expect to just continue on and yet as Ed wrote we need to pay attention to the things that are not our usual.

I have enjoyed the times I have been able to attend the small reunion in Florida, and that we may have one in White Plains in 2022.

Working at staying well, and enjoying the "summer" seasons of our lives.

Martha "Mimi" Rhea

Stay well, enjoy "summer"

Health Issues

My whole point is this message is to urge my classmates to take care of your health.

Like most of us, I turned 75 this year.  (My body may be 75 but my mind is still 25!)  I had a couple of health scares in June which made me realize how fragile we are as we age.  First was a pneumonia , which put me in the hospital for a week.

Next came the scary one.  Once I got home from the hospital, I was weak and could barely get around.  My daughter and grandson came up for a few days to help.  Being a Type II diabetic (another wonderful condition), I needed to check my blood suger and do my insulin injections before dinner.  While doing that, all of a sudden I was having extreme difficulties breathing (I have COPD, another wonderful condition).  My daughter called 911 and I then spent 8 days in the hospital being treated for fluid in my lungs and atrial fibrillation.  Home now recovering.

So - listen to your body!  At the slightest sign that something is not right, get it checked out.  A

Stay well, and hope to see everyone at the 60th if we have one.
