Nichols, NY: Theresa J Kelsey, 61 went to be with the Lord Apr 30, 2013 at her home in Zephyrhills, FL. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph & Edna Barnish & step dau Diana Kelsey. She is survived by her husband Henry Kelsey; her sisters Anna (and Gene) Wetzelberg & Judy Schilling; her daus Jennifer Wright & Brandy (and James) Maricle, her step children Deborah Kelsey, Scott Kelsey, Keith Kelsey, Darcy Kelsey, Dustin Kelsey, Dannon Kelsey & Kori (Kelsey) Lloyd. Grandchildren Alyssa, Austen, Dominic, Jordan, Kaylee, Logan, Kaleb, Allurah, Abigail, Aubree, Michael, Brooke & Suzanne. Several nieces, nephews & cousins. Theresa worked for Therm Corp of Ithaca for many yrs. Theresa was a devoted mother & grandmother. She enjoyed splitting her time between NY & FL & will be greatly missed by family & friends in both states. Jack D Haines, 59, of Holbrook, NY passed away June 5, 2010. He was predeceased by his father, Jerald D. (Skip) Haines. Jack is greatly missed and forever in the hearts of his wife of 35 yrs, Audrey (Wasserman) Haines; his children, Matthew (New Orleans, LA), Jami (Long Beach CA) and Jenna (Holbrook NY); his mother, Phyllis Dibble (Newark Valley, NY); his brothers, James Haines (Newark Valley, NY) and Jerry (Libby) Haines (Iron Station, NC); his sisters, Wendy (Charles) Haskell (Owego, NY), Susan (Richard) Cole (Windham,PA), Elisabet Haines (Owego, NY), Jean Homan (Tampa, FL) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jack was blessed with skills and abilities that led him through lifes journeys. He was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. Jack loved family time, especially the annual family reunion and had a fondness for gardening or working the soil since he was a young boy. He had a positive, "can do" attitude that was endearing to all those fortunate enough to have known him. Jack had an uncanny ability to learn and was a proven leader throughout his life. His ability to solve problems, his organizational skills and his demeanor endeared him to his co-workers, but most of all to his family. His children were his pride and joy. John R Lawton of Endicott - PR2 John R Lawton, USN, Ret., passed away suddenly on Sept 24, 2005. Born on Jan. 1, 1951, John was a son of Robert & Joyce (Haines) Lawton of Berkshire. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving companion, Anne Reade, Endicott; his bro, Stephen (Tammy) Lawton, Richford & sister Lori (Dave) Vogel, Owego; his special nephew, CTO1 Michael O'Neil, USN, Virginia Beach, VA; aunts, Bette Sherwood, Marge Holcomb; uncle, John Haines; a niece & several aunts, uncles, nephews & cousins. John was a graduate of Newark Valley High School, class of 1969, where he was a three star athlete (basketball, football & tract) & completed 30 yrs of service to his country in the Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post 1700, West Endicott, a Civil War Buff & a member of the Estey Organ Society. He possessed a strong zest for life & a witty sense of humor, which he frequently shared w/his family & friends. John enjoyed playing the organ & had a passion for all styles of music. In addition, he has rebuilt & restored many organs & antique clocks, was an artistic woodworker & an avid gardener. Following retirement he was a Head Start School Bus driver for more than 5 yrs. A celebration of John's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tue from the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St, Newark Valley. Rev. Daniel Martin & Rev. Jackson Cox will officiate. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery
Nancy K Waterman Hurlburt (May 22, 1951 - Feb 11, 2012) Newark Valley: On Feb 11, 2012 Nancy Hurlburt met her father Robert L Waterman at the gates of Heaven & is now sitting & awaiting the rest of her family & friends to join them at the party. She is survived by her husband & best friend of 40 yr, Arthur (Jack) Hurlburt; her mother Norma Wrighter; she was an amazing mother to her girls: Suzy (Howdy) Witter, Kristen (Edward) Severi & Robin (Paul) Morse, a very loving grandmother to her special boy, her number 1 grandson Jimmy Raab, her other grandchildren Cassandra, Nicholas, & Rebecca Lowe, John Severi, Kaitlin & Zachary Cox, her little Nater Tater Morse & her ggranddau Ariella; She will be deeply missed by her siblings Patty Balzer, Robert (Sharon) Waterman, Laurie (Robert) Carver, Holly Waterman & sis-in-law Audrey O'Bryan; several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews all of whom will miss her dearly. She showed them all an amazing example of strength through the family that they have promised to continue. She will also be greatly missed by her grandpups Corky, Scotty & Bea, & her favorite constant companion Crackers. Nancy was predeceased by her stepfather Arnold Wrighter & Mother-in-Law, Vivian Clairmont. Nancy's family will receive friends on Thur, Feb. 16, 10-11:45AM at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A Funeral Service will follow there at 12 Noon. Zimmer, Harold L - Willet, NY: Harold L. Zimmer, 63, lost his battle w/cancer on Sat, Mar 15, 2014, at his home in Willet, NY. He is survived by his wife & best friend, Caren; son, Shawn; daus, Joanne, Kathleen, & Christina.
