🌪️ Memories of the BHS Class of ‘64 Reunion Oct.4-6, 2024 🌪️
Dear Classmates: We had a fabulous time becoming reacquainted and making NEW memories. On Friday Oct. 4th at the “Meet and Greet”, about 50 of us enjoyed delicious Italian food at Marios on the Beach while reminiscing over the times gone by and catching up on what we are doing in our current lives!
On Saturday morning Oct. 5th, the BHS Assistant Principal toured about 20 classmates and guests around the school, the final year on that site, because a new Ball High School is currently being rebuilt across the street, opening next year. We were surprised to hear the choir rehearsing - they led us in singing “Ball High School Forever”. Of note is that money raised from the reunion will be donated to the new Ball High for special projects.
Later on Saturday night, as per tradition, about 60 of us gathered together at the beautifully decorated Galveston Country Club to enjoy a fabulous Sea and Turf buffet, accompanied by the sounds of our ‘60s music and dancing to “The Twist” and “La Bamba”.
The opening program honored the names of our classmates who served in the Military, with a period of silence and the playing of Taps. The slideshow of Purple Quill yearbook pictures plus reunions held since graduation recalled days gone by. The Memory Board displayed the names of the 134 cherished classmates who have passed on before us. There were door prizes and raffles and times for class pictures, while visiting table to table.
Not wanting the time together to end, about a dozen of us met for breakfast on Sunday morning at Moody Gardens. With saddened hearts we said goodbye, thinking of how we will meet again in future gatherings.
A BALL HIGH SCHOOL TOUR has been added to the schedule on October 5th at 10 AM at the front entrance, 41st and Ave O..
Come and join your classmates to tour the school we graduated from, because a NEW BHS is being built across the street!!!

October 4, 2024 "Friday Night Meet and Greet" at Mario's on the Seawall. Details on time and menu to be decided.
October 5, 2024 Saturday Night at the Galveston Country Club. Details on time and buffet menu to be decided.
(NOTE: October 6, 2024 Sunday Brunch Moody Gardens available: On your own. They just need a head count from us)
