Korean War Memorial -- Recommended by Gloria Danziger ('71)

The Korean War Memorial, one of the lesser known memorials, is located adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam War Memorial and consists of 19 seven-foot statues and a reflective granite wall etched with the faces of people who lost their lives during that war.  The memorial tells a different story whenever I visit, depending on the time of day, the season, and the weather.

National Gallery of Art -- Recommended by Gene Kern ('72)

One of my favorite DC sites is the National Gallery of Art.  The museum has a wonderful permanent collection and usually features two or three special exhibitions.  During the reunion, there will be several interesting exhibits and October is also a good time to enjoy the outdoor spaces.

The National Mall -- Recommended by Carol Amundson Lee ('72)

As a frequent DC visitor, I have a long list of favorite sites. I suspect most of you are not first timers.  However, if this is your first trip, the night tours of the monuments allow you to see a lot in a short time and maybe help to decide where to return and linger.    The tours are not a suggestion for our event evenings, but are worth considering if you are extending your visit. The tours can be booked on-line or at the hotel.
