After R.E., I spent four years in the Navy aboard nuclear submarines (no, I don't glow in the dark) stationed in exotic locations like Rota, Spain and Holy Loch, Scotland and deep under several large bodies of water with names you'd recognize. Unfortunately, you don't actually get to "see the world" on subs (no windows, my recruiter never told me that!). I lived in New London, Conn. and Charleston, S.C. for several years, then moved to Colorado in '73 and lived there until '05. I had an interesting and fulfilling 25 year career with the Englewood Fire Dept. as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Investigator, Training Officer and Shift Commander. Never thought I'd be running into burning buildings when everyone else was running out. I retired as a Battalion Chief and Emergency Manager in July '05. Shortly there after, my wife Sandy and I moved to Sarasota, Fl. where I dabbled in real estate (bad timing, enough said). I'm currently the Director of Preparedness Services for the Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross (try getting all that on a business card). We've been lucky dodging hurricanes (except for Wilma) and enjoy sunsets over the Gulf, kayaking in the mangroves and riding our motorcycles through the Florida countryside.
We still have a horse, a home and acreage in the mountains outside of Denver and look forward to returning there soon. I have two grown children, Megan 25 and Jason 22, who live in Colorado. Though I won't be at this reunion (first one I'll miss) I wish everyone health and happiness.
