I'm still taking up valuable space in Eugene. I am semi-retired, concluded 12 years as Oregon's college licensing officer in 2011. These days I work part time for the SARA project on interstate college licensure. I'm also on the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, which has been interesting work. I'm still watching birds as a hobby, though I am done writing bird books. I'm more or less single (my ex and I visit each other and I get to eat his good cooking). Dating a nice guy these days so we'll see what happens. My "fun project" has been a little book of dubious advice called "Notes for a High School Graduate" that came out in May 2015. My weight loss program has been largely ineffective (see ex, above).
