Hi Everyone!
After attending K-State I worked for a couple of different Parks & Receation agencies around the state. Now I am the Assistant Parks & Recreation Director for the City of Lawrence. And yes...I wear purple all the time even in Jayhawk land.
I met my wife Dawn at KSU, we have been married for 21 year and have 2 daughters. Samantha is an 8th grader and Stephanie is a Junior at Shawnee Heights High School.
I spend most of my free time coaching my daughter's sports team and watching them play on the school teams. I coach both girls in club volleyball and Samantha's fastpitch team. Samantha also plays basketball and runs track at school. Stephanie is in the SHHS marching band. That has been a new experience for me being a band parent....I never realized how much work goes into one of those halftime shows.
Both Dawn and I try to stay active in the schools. We try to harrase our daughters at every turn by volunteering at thier school activities (dances, band trip, chilli feed, PTO, band booster....) I have also been on the Shawnee Heights Board of Education for the past 6 years (elected twice). That has been an amazing experience, I got to be involved with overseeing a bond issue that has allowed us to make some pretty cool improvements to the Shawnee Heights schools.
