I graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in political science. Later, after realizing I could do nothing with that degree, I went back to school for computer science. In 1968 I married an Army officer and spent the next 27 years moving. We lived in Kentucky, Virginia, Texas, Minnesota, Ohio, California, Germany and Belgium. Our last assignment was in Alabama and we fell in love with the area and people so we decided to put down roots in Hoover, Alabama a suburb of Birmingham. We have 2 children, 2 grandsons and 4 step-grandsons. I still have fun with music and play clarinet in our church orchestra, sing in the choir and ring handbells. We love traveling and among other places have been to Iceland, Israel and Russia. I just retired from Blue Cross of Alabama after 22 years and am enjoying the freedom.
