I left Park Forest in 1972 to complete my degree at Northern IL University and never moved back. I met my husband, Jerry, a local business man, and have been married now 31 years. He's still a local business so looks like I'll never leave here either, dawg gone it!! I never had children but have a stepson, Todd, who gave us a wonderful granddaughter Brooke, who has given us 4 fantastic great grandchildren, Julian, Daniel, Diego and Sofia. I have my degree in education and have worked for our local school district, taught pottery at the local community college and then 16 years ago made a career change that seems to have been my calling. I am a non-medical case manager/educator for low income pregnant woman and their children in the maternal/child program for the DeKalb County Health Dept. It suits me well. So no more art stuff much except drawing trucks, cars,Spongebob and Dora for the kids!! I was looking forward to retirement in a few years but now with the rotten economy and 4 grand kids to help take care of that is all on hold for now. I am jealous reading thru the website of those that have retired and others that have moved out of Illinois!! Oh well.
