I loved the website and it was so good to hear from everyone. I wish I could be with you for the reunion, but it is a long way from Austin, Texas to Knoville again. My picture is attached and you may use it any way you want.

Here is quick review of what has happened with me.

I was teaching preschool when I was your class sponsor. That job became the direcotr of the Tennessee Infant Parent Service (TIPS) and we visited in homes of deaf infants and preschoolers all over the state.

I got married to Ron Howell at South Knoville Baptst Church on May 16, 1981. There were lots of TSD people there. I was supervising the TIPS program at that time.

I left TSD in 1983 when we moved to Austin, Texas.

I worked at the Texas School for the Deaf for 9 years (83-92) as a preschool teacher, middle school supervisor, and high school supervisor. I really missed my first TSD, in Tennessee.

We were unable to have children, so in 1988 we adopted Kara, who was born without an ear on the left side. She is not deaf but does only have one ear. Her birth mother was Mexican and her birth father was from the Philippines. She is now a sophomore at Texas State Unviersity and is doing very well. She is a wonderful daughter.

My husband is now retired and running a bookstore at our church. He worked for the Texas Workforce Commission for 24 years.

I am the elementary principal for the Regents School of Austin, a classical and Christian school in Austin. I am beginning my 14th year with Regents. My daughter graduated from here in 2006.
I am still interpreting. I am the head interepter for Bannockburn Baptist Church and I have done that for almost 24 years.

I have lots of deaf friends here in Texas, but I miss my very special friends from my years at TSD. I was in Knoxville two summers ago and went to visit the school. I got homesick.

I remember the class of 1977 very well. I remember our trip to Atlanta for the Senior trip. The two year previous there had been trouble on the Senior Trip. But not with the class of 1977. You all were fantastic and gave no problems to Don or myself. It was a wonderful time. I also remember class meetings. There were a lot of leaders in your class.

Give my love to everyone. I can't believe it has been 30 years. Time took off like a jet plane.
