After graduating from Rich East I attended Northwestern University majoring in radio,tv and film. I spent my junior year at the Universtity of Stockholm in Sweden where I met my wife to be. After graduation from Northwestern I worked in Chicago writing for an industrial design firm & drove a cab until able to return to Sweden in 1973 and didn't reside in the US again until 1997.
During the years away from the US I traveled worked as a foriegn correspondant and free lance writer and developed an interest in Chinese martial arts. Over the next 20 years I was active in clubs and tournaments, traveled to Tiawan, Thailand, Hong Kong & China, appeared in some kung fu films as the villain and was involved in founding the International Wushu Federation. Sweden was home even after parting with my wife of 10 years. I joined Dow Jones as Scandanavian bureau chief in 1991 then in '94 transferred to Bejing and returned to work at Dow Jones Newswires in Jersey City NJ in '97. I am currently News Editor for the Money Section, mainly covering foreign exchange policy & market. I still make several trips a year to Asia and so far have visited about 70 countries and lived on 4 continents.
The education I recieved at Rich East has served me well, the jornalism class, writing for the school paper, debate team and public speaking were all excellent preparation for my career. I have great memories of the time at Rich East and in Park Forest.
