After high school, I attended the University of Rochester in New York; graduated in 1968 and came back to DC to work on Capitol Hill. Left DC in 1969 to join VISTA and worked with the Native Americans in Arizona and migrant workers in California. Left VISTA to attend law school at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Graduated in 1975 and moved to Santa Fe, NM to work for the government in Los Alamos. Met and married my husband, Paul Bloom, in Santa Fe. Paul joined the Carter Administratation and we returned to DC in 1977. Our three children are independent, successful professionals today (one attorney, one fiction writer and one computer nerd), and I became widowed in 2009. I continue to practice law with the federal government and travel, play piano, hike, play tennis and bike for pleasure.
