Following graduation, I returned to the States that summer and in anticipation of getting drafted, I enlisted in the Air Force by December of that year. Ironically, I was stationed at Lakenheath AFB by October of 1970. Once I was discharged, I began attending college in Kansas, using the G.I. Bill.

I eventually earned a PhD in English and have been teaching writing online for going on ten years now. Overall, I have been teaching for thirty-two years. My wife and I met in graduate school. We live in Leavenworth, Kansas, part of the Kansas City metro area. Our twenty-four-old son lives in the Kansas City metro area as well.
