After completing A.B in classics at Sweet Briar College, I earned an M.L.S. at the University of Maryland and began a career at the Library of Congress, in rare books, and later as the LC Classics Specialist, working out of the Main Reading Room. 1974-1976 I lived in Ankara Turkey where my husband was in Air Force JAG and I worked for a year as an administrative librarian. Our marriage of almost a quarter of a century ended in divorce. I have identical twin daughters, born in 1980. Mary, a veterinarian, lives in Philadelphia with her musicologist husband, and son, born June 2013. Anne lives in DC and works at the State Department. I see all as often as possible.
