After high school, Heather attended Mt. Marty College in the dietetics program. Heather was married to Brady Muth in 2001 and she was the mother of two beautiful children, Colin and Hannah. Heather passed away in April 2002 as the result of an inner cerebral hemorrhage.

Heather's life revolved around her family. Colin is a freshman at Mt. Marty College where he plays baseball. Hannah will be a sophomore and is busy with sports (volleyball, track and basketball) and various activities. Heather's children are loving siblings to their two younger sisters. Heather's family has an award at Yankton High School given in her name to a female athlete that helps pay for athletic camps.
