How nice it is to be able to refresh one’s memory with this website. It is a lot to see so many people from high school in one evening and having the opportunity to reacquaint via the site is really helpful.

I am sorry to see that we have lost fifty of our classmates. So many great names on that list! I know they are missed, and I am so sorry to hear of those who have passed recently. Fifty years goes by far too quickly.

My husband Gene and I have lived mostly in the Southeast with our four children. He worked as a structural engineer, and I taught middle school science and high school chemistry. I lost Gene to cancer in 2013 after 42 years of marriage which wasn’t the way we planned it!

We settled in our home in Stuart, Florida, in 1998, and I am still there when I am not in D.C. I spend a lot of time in D.C. and Maryland where we still have many family ties. My kids are in D.C., Florida and Japan. So far no grandchildren, but I suspect that will change all at once.

The yearbook said my plans included a Midwestern college and a teaching career. I went to Indiana, and I taught. I guess I had an idea of what I wanted back then. Can I forget the rest of what it said? Actually, I have been surprised by how many yearbook plans actually matched life accomplishments – it has been an interesting revisit.

I look forward to the reunion and also to reading the profiles of those who can’t attend. I think we were all pretty lucky to be in a high school with so many interesting classmates.
