A lot has happened in the past 10 years! After my stint as a senior at OHS I went back to Germany to finish High School there, which took another two (then boring) years. Starting in 2000 I had to do a year of national service, which I spent in a social organisation that helps hard-to-employ kids.
I moved to London, UK, in 2001 to do my BSc. in Biochemistry at Imperial College London, which I finished in 2004. Because I was engaged in a lot of extra-curricular projects during my undergraduate time I was able to commence with my PhD work right after finishing my BSc. I spent three more years at Imperial College London and worked in the field of Biochemistry (Transcription). After wrapping up my PhD thesis I moved back to Germany (once again) in November 2007. At the end of May I will start a new job as a consultant at the chemical distributor Brenntag.
Having just started in a new job I don't really know if I'll be able to make it to Silverdale in July but I hope that my new employer will deem it a worthy cause to join my fellow class mates at the reunion.
Nevertheless, I wish you all the best and hope that you'll enjoy the reunion.
