Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home for David Alan Schmidt, 41, Berryton. He died Friday, Dec. 27 2002, at his home.
Mr. Schmidt was a surveyor for Schmidt Engineering Co.
He was born Sept. 15 1961, in Topeka, the son of John G. Schmidt Jr. and Rosalie Christianson Schmidt. His mother died when he was a child and he was reared by his father and stepmother, Gloria Schmidt. He graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1979 and attended Kaw Valley Vocational Technical School and Washburn University.
Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Roman Catholic faith.
Survivors include his father, John G. Schmidt Jr. Topeka; a son Cassidy Alan Schmidt Topeka; three brothers J. Steven Schmidt, Vallejo Calif. Tim Schmidt, Sausalito, Calif., and Greg Christianson, Kansas City Mo.; and two sisters, Diane Jacobs, Fairfield Calif., and Jayne Logue, Topeka.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetary. Mr. Schmidt will lie in state at the funreal home after 2 p.m. Monday, where visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
