LOOK WHO WE'VE BECOME

I think often of my days at SHHS-especially since graduating from the middle school to the high school this fall. Many of the things I have experienced and accomplished in my life can be directly attributed to the people I met and befriended at SHHS! I will probably not be able to travel to Topeka for the reunion. We will be in the middle of the semester here and a long weekend is difficult to accomplish during the school year. I am enjoying reading everyone's biographies and catching up on your lives since 1979.

After high school I attended Washburn where I earned an Economics degree. I also was at KU for a year doing some Graduate work. I married a boy from Leavenworth-Joe Norwood- in December of 1983. He went to work for the Federal Prison System and I worked for Hallmark cards for a short time. We started having sons about the same time The Bureau of Prisons started moving Joe around so I took several years off to be a mom and a wife. Since 1984 we have lived in Kansas City; Los Angeles; Fredericksburg, Va; Baton Rouge, LA; back to Fredericksburg; Beaumont, TX; Alexandria, LA; Richmond, VA; Denver, CO; and now in Apple Valley, CA.

We have 3 sons-Matt who is 23 and working on becoming a Paramedic, Tom who is 20 and going to College in Colorado-he too wants to be a teacher, and Jeff who is 16 and a sophomore in high school. All 3 boys have been involved with various sports. Matt's high school football team played in the Virginia state Championship game his Junior year. Tom played football and ran track at 3 different high schools. Jeff is the baseball player although he tried football and basketball also.

In 2001 I went back to school and received my teaching license. I am now teaching Math at the same high school my son Jeff attends.

Joe and I spend most of our spare time running from one sporting event to another so we can watch our boys! Because of our vagrant life we have lived in many places and experienced many things but our roots have remained in Kansas. We still get back to visit family at least once a year. I am sorry I won't be able to reconnect with most of you in person but feel free to contact me by email or phone and if you are ever in Apple Valley look me up.
