In 1963 I Graduated from Siena Heights in Adrian, Michigan with a major in
art. I married Bill Hayes on August 3, 1963. We have three children Bill Jr., Kellie Marie and Mike.
They each blessed us with 2 wonderful grandkids, ranging in age from 8 to
14.
I taught one year at St. Paul then hung in for 34 years for the
Chesaning Union Schools.
Somewhere in there I got a Masters Degree.
I loved it most of the time especially teaching art. I retired four years ago.
For 15 years we were partners with friends in a part-time business
called Keystone Traders which took collectors to the British Isles in
the summer.
That gave us the opportunity to take side trips to France, Italy,
Austria, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.
We had a screen printing store in West Town Owosso for several years.
When we sold it Bill joined the boys in Grand Rapids building homes and
then caretaker of our grandchildren.
We found a small house with a large workshop in Ada which we
completely restored and lived in for a year.
Then we found a larger place to redo, seems to be the story of our lives.
We now use the little house as a rental and Bill and the boys use the
workshop.
We are within 10 minutes of all the kids and have from four to six
grandchildren after school every day. Summer is wild.
My parents are both deceased and my brothers and sister Kathy left the
Oakley/Owosso area.
I still get back to Owosso almost every month to play cards with my
bridge club.
I am a docent at the new Grand Rapids Art Museum and in the Children's
Garden at Meijer Garden Sculpture Park.
I'm going to start dieting Monday in preparation for the reunion.
I've gained nearly a pound a year.
