Left U.K. in summer of 1966; graduated from Lebanon Community High School, Illinois, in 1967; went to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, graduating in 1971 with a B.A. in Political Science; went to Southern Methodist University Law School (Dallas), graduated 1974 with J.D. and have been practicing law in Dallas since then.

Married (Daena Smith Groves) in 1972; two sons, both married; 9 grandchildren
