LOOK WHO WE'VE BECOME

This isn't going to sound very interesting or exciting – but it's been fun. I feel like I've followed the path most traveled - but I've veered off a few times. I'm lucky to have found someone that shares the same interests and is a great “handy-man” (since we've spent 18 years rebuilding and remodeling our home). We have 4 great kids - 2 boys - 26 and 23 and two girls - 16 and 15. (And no, we never stopped to think about what it might mean to have 2 girls in high school one year apart from each other), but so far we‘re making it through. We don't have any grandkids yet - but we really can hardly wait.

My husband and I moved north of Holton in 1992 where you'd swear we got caught in a time warp. The pace really is relatively laid back here and families help each other out a lot. We live in a farmhouse on 80 acres - a very rural life with cows, a pony, a goose, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. Each morning my feet hit the floor running to keep up with it all. We also raise one litter of irish setter pups a year. I enjoy landscaping, gardening, painting, sewing, quilting, grilling and baking - these are the things I do when I get some down time.

I got my BBA from Baker and I have been with Royal Valley USD 337 for 5 years as the director of the community technology center and I am also the technology implementation specialist for the district. I love what I'm doing, and look forward to the beginning of a new school year every year. I plan to enjoy working until I'm 65. Doesn't that sound crazy?
