Won't be able to attend the 60th reunion of our class of 1959 (Yikes, 60 years!). After graduating from Buchtel, I went to the University of Michigan (Go Blue)---A.B. in Philosophy, then Western Reserve University School of Medicine, graduating in 1967.
Following that I was in Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and have been in Long Beach, CA for the last 41 years, where I had been on the faculty of the School of Medicine (Division of Nephrology) at the U. of California, Irvine.
I retired early (didn't like bureaucracy and academic back-stabbing), then continued my travels all over the world, especially Africa, both Polar regions, the Galapagos Islands, and Israel, to name but a few.
At home I raise exotic plants, tend to my Grand Champion Pug (the best breed in the world!!). Importantly, I spend time with my son, my "adopted" grand children, and am very actively involved with my synagogue and a number of charitable organizations.
Also, I raced a Mini Cooper for about six years, then decided to quit because my reflexes had slowed up too much. It was tremendous fun, especially living on the edge and pushing the envelope. Whew...
All my best to the class of '59, and I do plan to attend the 70th reunion :)
