Hi, after graduating from Laurel Senior High in 1974, I attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Co for four years. I became an Air Force pilot flying mostly fighter aircraft for my 30 year USAF and Air National Guard Career. I had four combat deployments and flew 80 A-10 “Warthog” combat missions over Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. I commanded Air Force bases and Groups in Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan (2002-2003) and Baghdad International Airport / Sather AB, Iraq (2006-2007). I was a Squadron, Group and Wing Commander of an A-10 unit. I retired after 30 years as a Colonel.

I also had a long career as an airline pilot and was the Captain of the Boeing 727, 757, 767, 777 and the Airbus A-300-600. I flew mostly international routes out of New York City to Europe, South America, the Caribbean, and the Far East. Due to a spinal injury which occurred while flying the A-10, my American Airlines career was cut short a few years ago.

Since then, I have received my Masters from Norwich University in Vermont - the degree is in History. I have written one book so far:
“Crisis in Baghdad: Leadership in a Risk Adverse environment”. This book was well-reviewed and is available on Amazon.com. The book is a fast and exciting read and is written specifically for a non-military audience. Get it and you’ll enjoy it!! My next book should be out in the spring of 2020 and is called, “In the Shadow of the Hindu Kush: A-10 Flying and Leadership in Afghanistan 2002-2008.” Look for it when it comes out!

I live in a rural area outside Doylestown, PA with my wife, Teresa, (Registered Nurse, retired)and my Belgian Malinois. I have three children - my oldest daughter is a Nurse Practitioner and lives with her husband and my two grandchildren children: a girl, 1.6 yes and a boy, 4 months. My son lives in Philly and after a career as a US Marine Corps Recon team leader (Special Forces) with a couple of combat tours, he changed services to become an Air National Guard (ANG) drone pilot (MQ-9 “Reaper”). He is now a Lieutenant in my old ANG Wing and flies drones over 8,000 miles away. My youngest daughter was in the Air National Guard and now is a software engineer for J & J in Ireland.

Besides history and writing, I am heavily engaged in supporting worthy veteran causes in and around my town. I look forward to seeing my classmates and friends at the Sept 14, 2019 reunion!
