Forty Years!!! I'm not old enough to have a 40th reunion. Whatever....I'm really looking forward to seeing old friends. I continue to enjoy life, but at a furious pace. I would have thought by now, things would have slowed down, but three positions on not-for-profits boards as well as a demanding job seem to leave little time for kicking back.

Meanwhile, I've had a few challenges physically associated with two bike accidents while preparing for a triathalon. I've been told to never run again, but am back up to runs of almost 7 miles. Struggling to stay in shape, but it's not easy (and I love eating).

I'm hoping to retire very soon, but with the main objective of increasing my volunteer time, spending more time on my genealogy hobby and also of establishing a consulting practice to the clinical laboratory profession. Clearly, I'm a slow learner about what retirement means.

Several years ago, we moved to an apartment in Evanston and we love it. Within a mile is Northwestern University, Lake Michigan, 50 restaurants, theaters, shopping ,etc. We never drive on weekends. It's all here.

Life is good.
