I was that shy, odd kid who everyone thought would have a career in the sciences. Instead I dropped out in my 20’s, turned my back on society, went “Back to the Land”, and spent decades living an eccentric country life in the remote mountains of Northern California, home to many like me. Surprisingly, at one time there were 4 graduates of BCC living in the Southern Humboldt County area where I lived. My unusual life had its ups and downs, but I would’t have traded it for a life of conformity in the city. Later on I had a second career in the Solar Energy Industry, which gave me the skills to start a small business selling solar energy equipment online. During that period, I came down out of the hills and began yet another chapter of my life in the cute, historic “Victorian Village” known as Ferndale, CA. Now I’m semi-retired and trying my hand at stock trading, after having studied the precious metals market for years. And after living in the lovely North Coast of California for most of my life, Spirit is telling me it’s time to leave the earthquake danger zone and seek my fortune elsewhere. After years of studying the area, I am being called to the “High Desert” around Bisbee, AZ, another historic town of artists, also home to many who have fled the big city, and where I will be moving soon.
