WE FELT IT ALL

We felt:
filled with feelings in need of expression,
immense pride when asked about our children's accomplishments,
an ache they don’t try harder,
other utterances could not be explained in the time allotted,
we need more time together,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
This I and many more I’s, as in “I”
love this person,
loved this person,
could love this person,
will love this person,
would love this person if they were just closer by,
don’t know this person but could love this person anyway,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
formed, morphed or solidified by each other’s beliefs present,
a shared sense that service to a community to be blessed,
the spiritual world we cohabit in high definition surround sound all around,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
the fresh crop in the garden, our (friend’s) young kids, are more than bacheh, they are our legacy too,
our children as parents are getting us to be nav-ay,
some day we’ll find natijeh and purpose,
a surge of hope the unseen nadeedeh will be at some reunion in another wonderful place,
we’ll be together too,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
everything dynamic jobwise, recreational and social -- who knew,
someone new will find a way into our lives more than we expected,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
puzzled by our changing participation and energy levels,
questions that attracted and repelled our inner voice,
circumspect and retrospect intertwined,
the sense of conquest and compassion of where we were, have been and are,
the saying "You Must Be Present To Win!" applies to attending reunions,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
focal points ranging from the carpet to the chandelier sideways and everything in between,
friendships surpassingly invaluable,
appreciation from everyone we talked with,
each other's views by playing a part,
we are in a drama that, like a minor, springs to adulthood with but 13 years of existence,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
good with praise and by praising each other,
swooning,
encouragement,
the courage to say those special kind words,
all themes of the human family's story.
We Felt It All.

We felt:
some more than others show the right instincts,
that we don’t know what is best for all,
we don't understand them all,
enthusiastic ecstatic joy at being in the moment,
joy, just joy,
We felt it all.

We felt:
mortification for challenges we’ve collectively faced,
there are valuable lessons en route to a much bigger prize,
our group’s digital cameras flash a gazillion pixels per square inch,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
the embrace and disdain for change,
the world we know is, at best, imperfect information,
we learned and learned some things a second time,
when we first knew each other a new generation was born to sentient personhood,
We Felt It All.

We felt:
the azimuth of a community cooperating is an inspired state of good,
living in the real world drives cliques to click,
our selves click.
We Felt It All.

We felt:
the ballroom was the greatest village in the world that night,
humankindness must be everywhere.
We Felt It All.

We felt:
our love grow from watching each other love,
our schedule keeping and busy-ness being shared,
our business and our family compositions open to each other,
our spiritual practices and religious observances peek out at times,
We Felt It All.

Friends, there are times to drip poetic and then there is the concluding exhortation:
Make the most of these memories of these moments, when we felt it all.
