I am retired from a teaching career in Wake County (Raleigh), North Carolina. My wife, Linda, teaches at Broughton High School and my youngest daughter, Marilea, is working on her Master's in Social Work at East Carolina University. A week after the reunion I will be attending my granddaughter's high school graduation. I have a daughter living in Reno, Nevada and the other three live in the Akron area. I am involved in model railroading and also the real thing. For the past twelve years I have been a North Carolina Train Host. I ride Amtrak's Piedmont from Raleigh to Charlotte and return.
My job is to make sure passengers are comfortable, have their questions answered, and promote travel by train.
